Mabel G. Mearkle

Mabel Mearkle, 91, formerly of Breezewood, PA; went to heaven on Saturday, August 26, 2023.  She was born on October 19, 1931 in Bedford County; a daughter of the late Elmer and Louretta (Hann) Bernhard.  On August 26, 1950 in Winchester, VA; she married Dale Mearkle.  He preceded her in death in December 1996.

She is survived by children William K. Mearkle married to Kimberly, Clearville; Randy L. Mearkle, Breezwood and Karen married to Joel Colledge, Clearville; sister Joyce married to Bruce Zimmerman, Martinsburg; grandchildren Craig, Heather, Amber, Brandy, Clint and Cody.  Along with many great grandchildren and family friend Judy Ling.

Along with her husband she was preceded in death by a son Dennis Mearkle, sister Oleta Clark, brothers Cramer Bernhard and Donald Bernhard and infant brother Robert.

Mabel enjoyed her healthy, blessed life by attending home Bible studies with neighbors, tent meetings and revivals.  She and her husband along with son Randy operated Mearkle’s Dairy Farm near Mattie.  She enjoyed traveling, gardening and walking the fields and woods near her home.  Her happiest moments were spent with family.

Burial will be held at Union Memorial Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
