Lorraine Shipley Obituary

Lorraine Shipley, 82, of Clearville, PA; went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2025 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on December 31, 1942 in Artemas, PA; a daughter of the late W. Spencer Crawford and Pearl J. (Clingerman) Crawford-Vance married to the late Milton Vance. On August 5, 1962 at Greenridge Church in Maryland; she was united in marriage to the love of her life Robert E. Shipley.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her children; Randy Robert Shipley married to Christine, Clearville, PA and Bonnie Lorraine married to Allen Kelly, Clearville, PA; grandchildren Preston Shipley married to Jennifer, Serena married to Billy Carling, Chantel Cogan and her fiancé Austin Gross, Zane Cogan and Chris Cogan; Great grandchildren Dominick, Logan, Rylee, Gunner, Nolan, Rylan, Maci, Alauna, Colton, Caison and Kensley; great great grandson Chase; siblings Pleasant Ruby married to LeRoy, Artemas, PA and Vada Harper, Warfordsburg, PA; daughter-in-law Yvonne Horton; a brother-in-law Calvin Trail, close friends and extended family, along with two special dogs Abby and Sparky.

She was preceded in death by siblings Mavis P. Snyder, Earl Crawford, Irene Trail, Lester Crawford and brothers-in-law Herbert Snyder, Luther Harper and Merle (Whitey) Shipley, sister-in-law Susan Mathis and a nephew Allen Crawford.

Lorraine attended Bethel Christian Church, where she loved to have fellowship with her church family.  She worked at Lions Manufacturing and later enjoyed trucking with her husband for a number of years. She later worked at the Woodmont Rod and Gun Club in Hancock, MD until retirement.  She enjoyed volunteering at the Everett Food Bank.

Lorraine, who we know as a wife, a mother and a nana, enjoyed and loved family gatherings, sewing, gardening, canning, hunting, camping and her chickens.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 4-8 P.M.  at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bethel Christian Church with Pastor Todd Jay officiating.

Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
