Leah Beach Obituary

Leah Michelle (Dodson) Beach, 54, of Waterside, PA; passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.  She was born on January 14, 1968; a daughter of Kay (Snyder) Dodson of Hopewell, PA and William Dodson married to Tina, Hopewell, PA.

Along with her parents she is survived by significant other, Terry Thompson of Waterside; her children Tasha married to Jason Hess, Wells Tannery, PA; Lucas Hoover married to Kristen (Burke) Waterside, PA; grandchildren Austin, Lilly, Layla, Jorja, Tylen, Rosalee and Roman and great-grandson Topher; siblings Billy Dodson married to Jackie; Jody Brown married to Kenny, many nieces and nephews and her furbaby Fergie.

She was preceded in death by daughter Tory R. Beach; sister Sherry K. Heister and brother Tony Dodson.

Leah was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School Class of 1986 and went on to receive her Associates Degree in Accounting from Allegheny Community College.  She worked in the accounting department for Waste Management and New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company.

Leah was a kind and thoughtful, creative and strong, independent and beautiful woman who loved fiercely and protected those loved ones with her whole heart.  Her family was her greatest joy in life.  Before anything else, she was “Mom, Mammy and Friend”.

From the time she was a young girl, Leah enjoyed the simple things.  She loved baby snuggles and a good song, a sunny day (but not too hot) and rain on a tin roof, the quiet after a snowfall and sitting by a fire, spoiling her baby girl “Ferg” and having a good laugh.  Just being with her family and friends was her idea of the perfect day.

Her big beautiful smile and loving heart and spirit is a light the world can never extinguish.
