Laura C. (Foor) Valentine - Ritchey

Laura C. Valentine-Ritchey, 85, of West Cypher Road, Everett, PA; passed away on Saturday, April 08, 2023 at Bedford Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born on May 26, 1937; a daughter of the late Lloyd W. and Mary H. (Norris) Foor. On March 15, 1952 in Cumberland, MD, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Valentine, he preceded her in death on October 16, 2000.  On April 15, 2006, she married George F. Ritchey, Sr., he preceded her in death on August 5, 2019.

She is survived by five children Sharon Bigler, Martinsburg, PA; Kenneth Valentine married to Anita, Bedford, PA; Denny Valentine married to Debbra, Mechanicsburg, PA, Mike Valentine, Florida and Michelle Zegles married to Scott, Cumberland, MD; step daughter Judi Beck married to Kelly; daughter-in-law Beverly Ritchey; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister Ruth Ford; sisters-in-law Barb and Margaret Foor.

She was preceded in death by a step son George Ritchey, Jr. and siblings Betty Weaverling, William Foor, Donald Foor, Kermit Foor, Robert Foor, Henry Foor, Ann Wable, Lois Jane Engle, Helena Bollman, Victor Foor, Eunice Rush and infant Mary Patricia Foor.

She was a member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren.

Laura enjoyed baking, taking pride in her home, tending to her flowers and caring for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ritchey worked at the Lions Manufacturing and later at Cannondale.

Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 11-12:00 at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Chaplain Ruth Joudry officiating.

Burial will be held at the Everett Cemetery.
