Landon Shaw Obituary

Landon Lee Shaw, 41 of Carnegie, passed away at his home, on Saturday, April 4, 2026. He was born in
Everett, Pennsylvania; a son of Lee and Elizabeth “Liz” (Henkle) Shaw. He is survived by his wife, Chasta
(Brink) Shaw; his daughter, Felicity Paige Shaw; brother Anthony “Tony” (Rianna) Shaw; sister Alisa
(John) McFarland; nephews and nieces, Max, Sadie, Caleb Shaw, John, Ella, and Daniel “Danny”
McFarland. Landon also leaves behind his family’s beloved dogs; Daphne, Delilah, and Duncan who
brought him immense joy and companionship. He is preceded in death by his brother, William “Billy”
Shaw and grandparents, Homer & Alberta Shaw, Jean (Joe) Pavlik and Herbert Henkle.
Landon faced many adversities in life. In October 2000, at just 16 years, due to heart failure, Landon had
to be supported by a total artificial heart as a bridge to organ transplant. Just a mere 17 days later, he
received the ultimate gift; a heart transplant. This experience shaped the way he lived the rest of his life.
He went on to graduate from Everett Area High School in the Class of 2002 and continued on to attend
The University of Pittsburgh.
Growing up on his family farm instilled Landon’s values of hard work and dedication, a love for the
outdoors, perseverance, and a profound sense of strength. Throughout his life, he continued to find joy in
movement and challenge. Landon embraced running with passion, defying the odds to tackle half and full
marathons, even including the “Dopey Challenge” at Disney World, reflecting his determination and
resilience.
Landon held a special love for all things Disney, sharing countless magical moments with his wife and
daughter at Disney World and on Disney Cruise Line. These memories reflected his sense of wonder, his
connection to life’s magic, and the way he remained a kid at heart.
Among his favorite pastimes, Landon especially enjoyed playing golf. He was an avid golfer who loved
the game and the camaraderie it brought. Some of his happiest moments were spent on the greens at
Montour Heights Country Club and the legendary course at Pebble Beach.
Landon also found happiness in the kitchen, baking bread from scratch and delighting those around him
with each loaf. You could always find him experimenting with different recipes. He was able to turn simple
ingredients into meaningful moments shared with family and friends.
Landon’s fascination with technology was matched by a natural talent for understanding even its most
complex aspects. He built a career from that passion and remained a lifelong learner, always curious and
eager to discover something new. “His knowledge and persistence allowed him to tackle demanding
challenges and make a meaningful impact.
A man of steadfast principles and remarkable intellect, Landon possessed a stubborn determination and
wealth of knowledge that inspired others. Often stoic in demeanor, stubborn in conviction, and brilliant in
thought, Landon lived life on his own terms, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him. His greatest
accomplishment in life was his daughter, Felicity, who will carry on his legacy, keeping his spirit alive in all
that she does.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his honor to the Center for Organ
Recovery & Education (CORE) and the Ronald McDonald House, as these charities were near and dear
to his heart.
