Kenneth Cooper Obituary

 

 

Kenneth William Cooper 73 of Raystown Road, Everett, PA and formerly of Millersburg, PA. He was born February 8, 1947 at Mercy Hospital in Altoona, and he passed into his heavenly home on January 6, 2021.  He is the son of William H. Cooper and Nancy R (Musselman) Cooper.  Ken married his high school sweetheart, Edith Ann (Ritchey), on November 28, 1968. He is survived by daughters Kristi (Brian) DeBacker, Chillicothe, IL, Natalie (Kris) Latshaw, Millersburg, PA, and son William (Alyson) Cooper,Bristow, VA., grandchildren Cory DeBacker, Curtis DeBacker, Kolton Latshaw, Sara Jane DeBacker, Brianna Rose DeBacker, Wyatt W Cooper, Bowman Cooper, and Alex Cooper, brother Dennis (Audrey) Cooper, Martinsburg, PA, brother-in-laws Dr. Daniel (Marcia) Ritchey, Everett, PA, Marshall (Sandi) Ritchey, Penn Hills, PA,  3 nephews and 4 nieces and 13 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Mariah Latshaw, and a nephew Jared Ritchey. Ken was a 1965 graduate of NBC High School and a graduate of Penn State 1967 with an associate degree in electrical engineering. He went to work for Pennsylvania Power & Light Company in Harrisburg, PA as an electrical Distribution Technician in 1967 from which he retired after 40 years. Ken and Eadie raised their 3 children in Millersburg, PA. In 2007 they retired to Everett, PA.  Ken was actively involved in all of his 3 children’s activities as they grew up.  He attended Hebron United Methodist Church in Millersburg where he sang in the choir.  He was a member of Susquehanna Masonic Lodge and the Harrisburg Consistory. He attended Bethel Church of the Brethren and served on the board.  He attends and is a member of Woodbury Church of the Brethren where he was active in the men’s group, ministry and evangelism, bible study, FOCUS Sunday school class, and helped teach the K, 1+2 Sunday school class. He also delivered meals on wheels. Eadie and Ken enjoyed traveling the country to visit their children, family, and friends. Ken loved being with his grandchildren and watching them grow! Ken could be seen many days on his tractor mowing his yard. Ken will be missed by his wife, family, nieces, nephews, and his many friends. He will be remembered for his wonderful laugh, amazing storytelling, and great big hugs.

Friends and Family will be received at the Woodbury Church of the Brethren for a time of visitation on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.

We ask that those in attendance would follow CDC guidelines and recommendations with wearing a mask and social distancing.

Burial will be held privately at Replogle Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
