Kathy Henderson Obituary

Kathy D. Henderson, 72, of South Spring Street, Everett, PA; passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 at home.  She was born on January 6, 1949 in Everett, PA; a daughter of the late Carl A. and Mary V. (Smith) Scalia. 

She is survived by a son Dennie W. Henderson, Everett, PA and a brother Samuel Scalia married to Debbie, Everett, PA.

Kathy was affiliated with Bethel Church of the Brethren.

Kathy was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1966 and a graduate of Allegheny College of Maryland in 1970 where she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Hotel Administration.  She started working at the Bedford Springs Hotel as a secretary in 1969 for seventeen years working up to Administrative Assistant until they close in 1987. She later owned and operated Henderson’s Telephone Center for several years. 

After graduating high school in 1966 she started to volunteer at the Blair County Humane Society where she served as treasurer.  Kathy was a member of the PSECU Humane Society of America as well as PETA.  She enjoyed visiting Pennknoll Village, Donahoe Manor, local Veteran’s homes with her dogs and cats for the enjoyment of the residents.  Kathy had a great love for animals and vacationing. 

At the decedent’s request all funeral services will be held privately. Burial will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
