Julia Painter Obituary

Julia Ann Painter, 85, of East Graceville Road, Breezewood, PA; passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Pennknoll Village.  She was born on May 5, 1940 in Imlertown, PA; a daughter of the late John and Jean (Thompson) Howsare.  On August 7, 1960 in Imlertown, PA; she was united in marriage to Ronald W. Painter. 

Along with her husband she is survived by children Pam Creps married to David, Breezewood and Phil Painter married to Stacy, Breezewood; three grandchildren Sheena Kinser, Cameron Painter and Kallie Painter; three great grandchildren Kamden, Greyson and Gabriella; a sister Marion Braman; a brother Tom Howsare married to Mariam; sister-in-law Sharon Adams married to Rick; brother-in-law Thomas Simmons married to Betty and twenty-two nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by siblings John Howsare, Jr., Perry Howsare, Bill Howsare, brothers-in-law Larry Painter and Maynard Painter; mother and father-in-law Cleo Simmons and Dale Painter.

Julia attended the Breezewood Community Church.

Over the years she managed the restaurant at the 76 Truck Stop, Bonanza in Breezewood, working from its first dollar till its final dollar for over 30 years, and lastly managing at the Post House until retirement.

She was a former member of the Bloody Run Car Club, Lazy “B” Camping Club and Red Hat Society.  She enjoyed attending car shows, camping and boating at Raystown Lake with her husband.  Julia also enjoyed going to estate auctions and flea marketing.

 

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett from 5-7 P.M. and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Delmas Bard and Pastor Bill Davis officiating.

Burial will be held at Jerusalem Cemetery.
