Judith Calhoun Obituary

Judith W. Calhoun, 85, of Bedford, PA; passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Colonial Courtyard.  She was born on May 7, 1940 in Scranton, PA: a daughter of the late Wallace W. and Iva (Lynch) Wellman.  On April 15, 1960 in Cumberland, MD; she was united in marriage to Dean E. Calhoun.

Along with her husband of sixty-six years, she is survived by children Timothy Calhoun married to Dana, Bryan Calhoun, Kelly (Calhoun) Snyder and Scott Calhoun married to Tara; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a brother Charles E. “Ned” Wellman married to Barbara.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother Wallace Wellman.

Judy was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1957 and attended Hagerstown Business College and Grove City College.  Throughout her career she worked as a secretary and court stenographer for Judge Richard C. Snyder and later held administrative positions with Everett Area School District and the joint Bedford-Everett Technical Vocational School.

She was a member, pianist and choir member of the Everett United Methodist Church. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 with Rev. Robert R. Robertson officiating.

Burial will be held privately at the Everett Cemetery.
