Joseph “Joe” Lee Means, 46, of Bedford, PA; passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. He was born on October 20, 1978 in Bedford, PA; a son of Wanda J. (Gowin) Johnson and the late Randy L. Means. On September 2, 2000, he was married to Amanda Means.
Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons Seth Jezeskie of Bedford, PA and Bradlee Means of Bedford, PA; sister Jessica Marsh married to Eric; brothers-in-law J.J. Craig married to Michelle; James Craig married to Tiffany; Daniel Miller; sisters-in-law Anna Marie Craig and Leann Tucker and significant other Kyle Blackledge; mother-in-law Dianne Brummert; father-in-law Edward Jezeskie married to Darlene along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sister Jennifer Miller, grandparents Ralph and Isabel Means, Walter and Dorothy Gowin, Wayne and Hannah Gowin; and father-in-law Bill Duncan.
Joe attended Everett Area High School. He enjoyed racing, hunting, fishing, and tending to his cabin. While going on cruises, he spent time trying his luck on the claw machines. He also enjoyed being with his many friends. Joe was a self-employed truck driver.
He was a member of Bedford Sons of the American Legion and Bloody Run Social Club.
A Celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at 5:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor John Geyer officiating.
Friends and family will be received from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.
Burial will be held privately at Stevens Chapel Cemetery.
If friends so desire in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Joe to the Akers Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
