John R. Wyles, Jr. lost his battle to cancer on Sunday November 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 28, 1950 at JC Blair Hospital in Huntingdon, PA; and a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School Class of 1968.
Many know him as a hardworking, God fearing man who loved his church and country. John started at Adams Electric in York, PA over 38 years ago as a journeyman lineman. With hard work and dedication, he became owner and operator of John R. Wyles, Inc and employed over fifty people through the 21 years in business. He believed that small businesses were the backbone of our communities and developed many personal relationships along the way. John always cared for his employees, even till his last day.
If he was not working, he was hunting, trapping, training dogs, fishing, or spending time with his grandsons and family. As a lifetime member of the NRA, John was a Patriot of his own kind.
“The Kingdom of God transcends every nation on earth, and that it is to this Kingdom which I owe my ultimate allegiance. Because it is through the work of this Kingdom that I have been given salvation. A gift even more precious than the freedom granted me by my citizenship in the USA.” For this reason, John loved his God and his country. (Thomas Christianson)
John is survived by his wife and friend of 41 years Michelle (Maslanik) Wyles, daughter Missy (Wyles) Nestor married to Chris (Mechanicsburg), son Michael Wyles (Pittsburgh), and grandsons Ethan and Brandon Nestor (Mechanicsburg). His sister Stephanie (Wyles) Thomas, married to Kenneth, brother Nathan Wyles, married to Sherilee (all of Saxton) and Jeremy Wyles (Wells Tannery), married to Stacey, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The loved ones that he has been reunited in Heaven with are his mother, Delores “Dink” Kelly Wyles, Grandparents Bruce and Ethel Kelly, Howard and Ella Wyles, sister Gretchen Perrin, and father John R. Wyles, Sr.
