John R. Morral, 79 of Big Creek Road, Clearville, PA; passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at Hershey Medical Center. He was born on March 5, 1942 in Everett, PA; a son of the late Denton and Bertha (Homler) Morral. On August 15, 1969 in Winchester, Virginia he was united in marriage to the former Anne Marie (Lawler); she preceded him in death on July 2, 2003.
He is survived by children John A. Morral married to Ernest Staaf and Jennifer A. Morral; grandson Kyle A. Woodham; son-in-law Michael Woodham and siblings Helen Winegardner and Sam Morral. Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by daughter Michelle A. Woodham and brother Thomas C. Morral.
John was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1960. After High School he went on to serve in the United States Army. Following service to his country, he returned home to help his father on the family farm, and later, working the farm with his wife, Anne Marie. Additionally, in his life he also pursued other interests such as real estate and construction. John attended the Clear Ridge Fellowship Church and was a member of the Everett American Legion Post No. 8. He enjoyed listening to music, especially songs of his youth and studying history. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and woodworking.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Clear Ridge Fellowship Church with Pastor Todd Bowles officiating.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 from 4-8 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.
Burial will be held at Clearville Union Cemetery with full military honors being conducted by the Everett Area Honor Guard.
