John M. Grace, 79, of Hopewell, PA; passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. He was born on June 21, 1945 in Groundhog, PA; a son of at the late Clifford E. And Verna A. (Browell) Grace. On January 3, 1966 in Marquette, Michigan; he was united in marriage to Mary G. (Siegrist) Grace.
Along with his wife, he is survived by children Michael Grace married to Carol (Frederick), Imler, PA; Wendy Grace, Willis, TX and Daniel Grace, Happy Valley, OR; grandchildren Shelby Chisler married to Charles, Wesley Grace, Lindsay Barranco-Perez married to Santiago; great grandchildren Ryleigh Chisler, Santiago Jr., Giovani, Sofia, Mateo, Issac, Carmen and Benecio, a sister Ruth A. O'Neal, sister-in-law Sharon Grace.
He was preceded in death by grandson Kenton Clippinger, siblings Sally Griffith and Oscar, James Grace and Jean, Larry Grace, William Grace, Janet Skipper and Palmer, Wilday Grace and Linda, and brother-in-law Harry O'Neal.
John was a graduate of Northern Bedford High School, where he played baseball. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed at KI Sawyer and then serving in the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a toll collector and later as supply clerk for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.
John was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church and attended Raystown Brethren Church, where he enjoyed attending Bible studies. Mr. Grace was member of the Hopewell Senior Center, Hopewell Sportsmen's Club and participated in local bowling leagues. He enjoyed his Tuesday morning breakfast club at the Kettle.
John loved life, family and people, but most of all his Lord who called him home. We may be crying but he is singing, dancing with his hands held high in the air praising his creator.
Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Alfred Chamberlain officiating.
