John Charles Border, 91, of Everett, PA; passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on October 6, 1934 in Everett, PA; a son of the late John T. and Rose L. (Snyder) Border.
He is survived by sons Keith Border married to Melody of Bedford and Jeffery Border married to Jenny, Stroudsburg, PA; son-in-law Darwin Vickers of Lewes DE; sister Carole J. Border of Everett and a brother Terry Border married to Erick Osorio of Lewes, DE; grandchildren John Thomas Border, Anne Brown, Jessica Postal, Jonathan Border, Nancy Vickers and Donald Vickers along with his great grandchildren. A special mention of his neighbor Sonny Redinger, who was a great help to John in so many ways throughout the years.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Dana Marie Vickers, brothers Richard A. Border, Robert S. Border and Donald L. Border.
John was a senior toll collector for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission for many years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Everett Red Men Wambic Tribe #507, Everett. John was an avid Steeler, Pirates, and Nascar fan especially #3 Dale Earnhardt. He could often be found going out for his daily sandwich.
He deeply loved his family and will be greatly missed.
Friends and family are invited to call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Monday, November 17, 2025 from 12:30-2:00 PM.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Rev. David Weinhold officiating.
Burial will be held privately at Bethel Cemetery.
