Joel W. Fouse

Joel W. Fouse, 81, of Backbone Road, Entriken, PA; passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at the James E. VanZandt VA Medical Center, Altoona.  He was born on December 23, 1938 in Entriken, PA; a son of the late William Lester and Martha Mae (Brumbaugh) Fouse.  On December 30, 1968 in Aliquippa, PA; he was united in marriage to M. Faith (Ryan) Fouse.

Along with his wife, he is survived by children Rebecca G. Reed, Sebring, FL; Damian Fouse, James Creek, PA; Jessica married to Jeff Camp, Joliet, IL and Joel Fouse, Jr. married to Abigail, Huntingdon, PA; grandchildren Jonathon Reed, Brandon Rock, Dereck Roggy, Kerlisa Camp and Chelby Fouse; five great grandchildren and two siblings Gladys married to Donald Rodgers and Gene R. Fouse married to Maxine.

He was preceded in death by two daughters Nadine H. Fouse and Katherine Fouse; siblings George W. Fouse, John Fouse, Raymond Fouse, Dolly Givler and Glenn “Bud” Fouse; daughter-in-law Holly Fouse.

Joel was a member of the St. Matthews United Church of Christ, Entriken.

He was employed as a steel worker throughout his career.  He graduated from Huntingdon High School Class of 1956 and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1957-1960 as a Corporal.

Joel was a member of the St. James Masonic Lodge F.&A.M. No. 457, Huntingdon Elks and Moose Lodge, Woodcock Valley Sportsman’s Club, Huntingdon V.F.W. Post No. 1754, Ducks Unlimited and  Standing Stone Golf Club.

Mr. Fouse enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing with his grandson.  He participated in bowling leagues over the years.

Friends and Family may call at the St. Matthews United Church of Christ on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 10-12:00.  Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Doug Satterlee and Rev. James Patterson officiating.

Burial will be held privately at Entriken Cemetery.
