Jody S. Foor

Dr. Jody S. Foor, 70, of Fredericksburg, VA; passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023 at his home.  He was born on July 20, 1952 in Everett; a son of the late Elmer “Jim” W. Foor, Jr. and Helen V. (Hershberger) Foor. 

He is survived by brother Dr. Jeffrey L. Foor married to Linda, Clearville; two nephews Ian Foor married to Amy and their children Alina, Maddie and Nick; Andrew Hartle married to Laura and son Jordan; a niece Natalie Kaar married to Matt and their children Izzy and Gwyneth.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Jill Ann (Foor) Hartle and a brother Dr. James R. Foor.

He was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1970, and a graduate of Pennsylvania State University where he played baritone in the Blue Band.  He was a graduate of Ohio State University College of Optometry. 

After graduation he practiced in the United States Navy at Quantico before opening a private practice in Fredericksburg, VA.

Funeral Service will be held privately in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Rev. Robert R. Robertson officiating.

Burial will be held privately at the Everett Cemetery.
