Joan Marie Leader

Joan Marie Leader, 80, of Everett, PA; passed away peacefully at Rebecca’s Personal Care Home in Everett on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.  She was born in Pavia, PA on February 25, 1945; the oldest child of Charles and Margaret (Alloe) Harr. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings.

She married Curtis Edgar Leader on May 05, 1974 in Bedford, PA. They have one daughter, Christine married to Matthew Harr. They have two grandchildren, Drew and Derek Harr. Derek preceded her in death.

Joan had two beloved pets, her cow, Bucky and her cat, Tom.  She was a life-long animal lover.

She also worked at the Everett Foodliner (IGA) for many years in the deli. 

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 11:00 A.M with Pastor Lee Seese officiating.

Burial will be held at Mt. Union Cemetery.
