Joan E. (O'Neal) Cornell - Foor

Joan Elizabeth (O’Neal) Cornell-Foor, 82, of Everett, PA; went to be with her Savior Jesus on September 08, 2024.  She was born on August 19, 1942 in Clearville, PA; a daughter of the late John Kenneth and Flora (Robinson) O’Neal.  In 1962 she married a fellow classmate, the late Jim Cornell.  On December 29, 2006, in Winchester, VA; she married John R. Foor II,  the love of her life who cared for her with great kindness to the very end of her life.

She is survived by her sisters, Mary Lou Bowman, Perrysville, OH and Linda Norris O’Neal, Bedford.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Janie O’Neal, whom Joan helped to care for many years, also brothers-in-law Gerald Bowman and Rodney Norris. 

Joan did not have children of her own, but adored her nieces and nephews: Tonya, Vince, Rochelle, Nicole, Patsy and their children.

Joan was a member of the Clear Ridge Fellowship Church, Everett.

She was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1960 and was Home Coming Queen.

Joan was employed at Howard Johnsons, Breezewood, as a hostess and cashier, she also worked as a teller at several banks, sold tickets at the Bedford Fairgrounds Race Track, sold Avon, Beeline and Minn. Woolens Fashion Stylist and later retiring from Mann-Monroe Elementary School cafeteria.

She loved her little dogs and spent hours outside on her hilltop home she called “Paradise Hill”.  Joan’s passion was working in her beautiful flower beds, and she loved having friends stop by to show off her colorful gardens.

Friends and Family will be received on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 14, 2024 in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Bowles officiating.

Burial will be held at the Everett Cemetery.
