Jimmie Eugene Tewell, 91, of Black Valley Road, Everett, PA; passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at home. He was born on June 19, 1933 in Chaneysville, PA; a son of the late Floyd and Mae (Tewell). On December 22, 1959 in Cumberland, MD; he was united in marriage to Etta Mae (Smith) Tewell.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years in December and the following family three children Brenda married to Richard Robinette, Clearville, PA; Sherry married to Rick Means, Clearville, PA and Greg Tewell, Artemas, PA; seven grandchildren Darren Robinette married to Hillary (Barkman), Ashley married to Kevin Baum, Jared Robinette married to Patricia (Deffibaugh), Seth Means married to Koren (Stahlman), Marshal Tewell, Mariah married to Ben Daniels and Madaline Tewell; eight great grandchildren Autumn, Alayna, Ainsley, Laura, Alma, Payton, Kennedy and Blakely; and sister-in-law Shirley Tewell.
Jimmie was preceded in death by brothers Gary and Tommy Tewell.
He attended Chaneysville Community Church.
Jimmie worked at Van Hessen now known as Blue Triangle Hardwoods as a manager and log buyer over the years until his retirement.
He served in the United States Air Force having served in the Korean War from 1952-1956 he was stationed in Texas, Illinois, California, Japan, Korea, Louisiana, Labador and North Africa during his enlistment.
Mr. Tewell was a member of the Artemas American Legion Post. No. 155 and served as President of the Chaneysville Cemetery Association.
He enjoyed being with family, hunting, carpentry projects, picking on his grandchildren, snowmobiling, and Sunday dinners with family.
Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the Fairview Christian Church from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Fairview Christian Church with Pastor Jonas Smith officiating.
Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery with military honor by the Everett Area Honor Guard.
