Jeffrey Hershberger Obituary

Jeffrey Hershberger, 72, of Everett, PA; passed away after a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer.  He was born on September 17, 1953 in Everett, PA; a son of the late Franklin and Betty (Boore) Hershberger.  On November 3, 1990 he was united in marriage to Marsha L. (Smith) Hershberger.

Along with his wife, he is survived by a sister he adored Julie Recker and her husband Ken that was a like a brother to Jeff; he is also survived by a sibling Joel Hershberger (Sandy); mother-in-law Patty Smith, sisters-in-law Nancy Diehl, Jenny Smith; brothers-in-law Steve Smith and Bob Barton; nieces Amy Hallman, Lindsey Gallagher, Emily Burkett and Courtney Trexler; nephews Seth Calhoun, Evan Calhoun and Erik Diehl; numerous great nieces, cousins and many many great lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister Janice Burtnett, father-in-law Gary Smith and sister-in-law Kelly Barton.

Jeff was raised in the Methodist faith.

He was a graduate of Bedford High School Class of 1971.  He worked at Blue Triangle as a log truck driver for a number of years until retiring.  After retirement he worked for Fisher Auto Parts.  He was a social member of the Everett American Legion.

In Jeff’s earlier years, he enjoyed motorsports of all kinds; one of his favorite hangouts was A&D Suzuki, where he met a lot of friends.  He raced go karts, drag raced motorcycles, hill climbed and was a “Motorhead”.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held and announced at a later date.
