Jean (Cornell) Rose

Jean Rose, 92 of Bedford, PA; passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on April 6, 1929 in Freedom, PA; a daughter of the late Floyd Daniel and Sara Grace (Wilkinson) Cornell. She was united in marriage to the late Charles Amos Rose, he preceded her in death. 

She is survived by siblings Barbara Hummel, Everett, PA; Floyd J. Cornell married to Maria, Fairburn, Ohio and Judy K. Sloan married to Wayne, Pottstown, PA; sister-in-law Ruth Cornell, San Angelo, TX and many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog “Tinker”.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Charles Eugene “Butchie” Rose and a brother Robert Daniel Cornell.

Jean was a graduate of Everett Area High School, where she played on the girls’ basketball team.  She was employed at Lions Manufacturing for a number of years and later owning and operating Green Acres Motel and owned and operated Jean Rose Beauty Salon.  She enjoyed participating in local bowling leagues and played in the V.F.W. Band. 

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the Everett Cemetery with Pastor Mark “Cappy” Lingenfelter officiating.
