Janice E. Eichelberger, 71, of Ritchey Road, Everett, PA; passed away unexpectedly at home on
Wednesday, November 6, 2024. She was born on November 8, 1952 in Everett, PA; a daughter
of the late Marshall Kenneth “Bud” and Edna Mae (Snyder) Ritchey. On September 12, 1970 in
the Everett Grace Brethren Church, she was united in marriage to Kenneth G. Eichelberger.
Along with her husband of fifty-four years, she is survived by two sons Michael Eichelberger
married to Angela (Valentine), Bedford and James “Jamie” Eichelberger and significant other
Sara Rowzer of Everett; a very special grandson that she adored Zachary Eichelberger and two
grandchildren Landyn and Jaelyn; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-
nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings Sally “Nancy” Miller, Beverly J. Childers, Eugene
Ritchey, Marry Etta Newman and William “Bill” Ritchey.
Janice was a member of the Everett Grace Brethren Church.
Mrs. Eichelberger was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1970.
She enjoyed cooking, decorating her home, sewing for friends and family, gardening and
canning. Janice loved to host family gatherings, holiday dinners, attending her son’s and
grandchildren’s athletic events, and above all else the most important part of her life was being a
loving wife, mom and grandma. Her life’s desire was to always care for her family.
Friends and Family will be received on Monday, November 11, 2024 at the Akers Funeral
Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett from 10-12:00 noon.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel at
Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Hott officiating.
If friends so desire in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Janice
to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
