Jane Elizabeth Cunard, 84, of Everett, PA; passed away at Pennknoll Village on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. She was born on September 24, 1941; a daughter of the late Hayne Charles and Neva Mae (Nelson) Barkman. She was later raised by her grandparents Marshall and Blanche (Dicken) Barkman. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Eric Lee Cunard on July 21, 1962 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford, PA.
Along with her husband of sixty-three years, she is survived by a daughter Cindy Ann Hogan married to Robert, Kutztown, PA, a granddaughter Aura Lani Hogan, New Tripoli, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Fred J. Barkman.
Jane was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1960 and attended Mt. Aloysius College. She was employed by Lions Manufacturing as a seamstress for several years.
She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Everett, PA. She enjoyed cooking, working with flowers, sewing and making alterations to women’s clothing. Jane was a clothes enthusiast; she enjoyed making children’s clothing especially for her daughter and granddaughter as they were growing up. She would often buy new clothing for herself and make modifications to them.
She taught CCD classes and served as secretary for the CCD program for several years at St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Friends and family will be received on Friday, May 15, 2026 at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA from 9:00 A.M. until the time of departure to the church at 10:30 AM.
Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 161 E. First Avenue, Everett, PA 15537 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Derek Fairman officiating.
Burial will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery, Bedford.
