Obituary

James L. “Buck” Gaynor, Jr, 76, of Everett, PA; passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Pennknoll Village.  He was born on March 13, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD; a son of the late James R. and Bessie (Long) Gaynor-Little.  He was the last of his immediate family.

On November 22, 1978, he was united in marriage to Linda (Boden) Gaynor in Clear Spring, MD.   Along with his wife of forty-four years, he is survived by son Leslie, step son Gary Steiner (Wendy); stepdaughter Tammy Ferrell (Darin); eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one due later this year.

He was preceded in death by twin sister Janice Furley and half-brothers Robert and David Moore.

He was a member of the Everett American Legion Post No. 8 and Everett V.F.W. Post No. 2088.  He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1966-1973.  He was a proud veteran and spoke often of it.  He worked many jobs over the years, retiring from Henkel and McCoy in 2008.

Buck enjoyed hunting, country music, baking his infamous homemade rolls, fishing the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers; and mushroom hunting.  Later years he like watching football, baseball and golf on TV along with his old game shows and westerns.

At his request there will be no services.
