James “Allen” Williams, Sr., 84, of Breezewood, PA; passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025. He was born on August 5, 1940 in Breezewood, PA; a son of the late Wilbur and Faye (Mills) Williams. On November 2, 1959 in McConnellsburg, PA; he was united in marriage to Ruth E. (Bottenfield) Williams.
Along with his wife of sixty-five years, he is survived by children Tammy married to Max Henry; Jimmy Williams married to Nora (Trail); Cameron Williams married to Tracy (Russell); S. Diane married to Jeffrey Oaks and “Jerry” Williams married to Leslie (Fischer); grandchildren Adam Henry (Brandi), Lainie Snider (Jan), Jolene Shaffer (Travis), Nadine Michael (Nathan), Andy Williams, Jeffrey Oaks, Seth Oaks, Noah Williams, Lindsay Mburu (Teddy), Luke Fochtman (Bailee); fifteen great grandchildren; siblings Joan Chirdon (Bill) and Clifford Williams (Beverly); sister-in-law Susan (Mellott) Bottenfield and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by both his parents, (Wilbur and Faye), father-in-law Floyd Bottenfield, mother-in-law O. Mae (Davis) Bottenfield, brother in-law's Jim Bottenfield and Bill Bottenfield, sister-in-law Anne (Linder) Bottenfield, nephew Billy Bottenfield.
Allen started out in the Stave business from 1969-1970 as owner/operator of Allen Williams Stave Mill in Menchtown. He later started Williams and Sons Lumber along with his three sons and his brother. He worked in the timber business all of his life.
Allen was a member of the Breezewood Wesley United Parish Church. He enjoyed going to Canada, Maine and Colorado hunting as well as hunting locally in Bedford and Fulton County’s.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Patrick Traxler officiating.
Family and friends may call at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 3-8 P.M. and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will be held at Union Memorial Cemetery.
