James K. Jay, Jr., 86, of Clearville, PA; passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. He was born on June 15, 1938 in Clearville, PA; a son of the late James O’Kelly Jay, Sr. and Annie Marie (Cogan). On July 09, 1960 in Greenridge, MD; he was united in marriage to Vernelda A. (Clingerman) Jay.
He is survived by his wife and children James D. Jay, Clearville, PA; Lisa D. Foor (Kevin Foor), Osterburg, PA and Carrie May married to Jim, Artemas, PA.; siblings Richard Jay, Everett and Delores O’Rourke married to Jim, Clearville; grandchildren, Malaina Jay, Joelissa Jay, Tyler Foor (fiancé August Hill), and Rachel Foor; great grandchildren, Lucas, Harper, and Maya.
Jim was preceded in death by siblings Arlene (Jay) Zinn, Eugene Jay, infant siblings Betty Jay, Bobby Jay and grandson Dalton L. Foor.
He attended Bethel Christian Church where he served as Trustee, he was also the caretaker of the historical Pine Grove Church for many years. He loved family get togethers, hunting, and enjoyed mowing and listening to country and bluegrass music.
Jim was a self-employed logger owning and operating Jays Pulpwood and Logs.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the Bethel Christian Church at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Todd Jay officiating.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at the Bethel Christian Church from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service.
Burial will be held privately at Pine Grove Cemetery.
