James W. Drenning, 85, of Six Mile Run, PA; passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at home. He was born on October 24, 1940 in Dudley, PA; a son of the late Willard S. and Katherine (Williams) Drenning.
He is survived by children Michael Drenning married to Rena and their children Tess, Michael; the late Michelle Drenning and her children JorDann, Joshua, Nicholas and Alex; and Lisa Drenning and her children Leah and Kaycee; great-grandchildren Bruno, Lucas and Viviana; siblings Jerry Drenning, Mary Lee Betts, Betty Lou Kane, Cindy Kay Drenning-Manfre, Randy Drenning, Richard Drenning, Rodney Drenning, Craig Drenning and Patty Sue Drenning and special nephew Mark Hoover.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Michelle Drenning and siblings Daniel and Joseph.
He was a member of Robertsdale Church of God.
He was a member of the Down River Golf Course, Saxton Sportsmen Club, Saxton V.F.W. Post No. 4129, The Bavarian Aid Society, and the Bedford Moose Lodge.
Jim was a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School Class of 1958. He served in the United States Army, serving as a specialist 4.
He worked for the Department of Corrections at the Smithfield Prison for sixteen years retiring in 2002. Jim loved to golf, bowl, dance to polka, and spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 1 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Seace officiating.
Burial will be held at Yellow Creek Reformed Cemetery (St. Paul’s), Hopewell.
