Howard Smith Obituary

Howard Eugene “Gene” Smith, 83, of East Pitt Street, Bedford, PA; passed away on August 9, 2020 at home.  He was born on December 11, 1936; a son of the late Sheldon and Sarah (Casteel) Smith. 

He is survived by siblings Dot married to Richard Mowry, Manns Choice; Betty Imler, Roaring Spring; Donna married to Norman Lynn, Martinsburg; Bill Smith, Woodbury and Tom Smith married to JoAnn, Everett; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by siblings Jim and Clyde Smith; brother-in-law Pete Imler and sister-in-law Frances Smith.

After graduation from Morrisons Cove High School in 1956, Gene moved out west until one year ago when he called home and stated “I want to come home” after sixty-two years of living away.

He enjoyed attending yard sales and flea markets, often referring to himself as an antiquer.

Friends and Family will be received at the Everett Grace Brethren Church, 14 West Main Street, Everett on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service. 

A Memorial Service will be held  at the Everett Grace Brethren Church, 14 West Main Street, Everett on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 2:30 P.M with Thomas Smith  officiating. 

Burial will be held privately at Ritchey Cemetery.
