Helen Rinard Obituary

Helen N. Rinard, 95, of Roaring Spring, PA; went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2019.  She was born in Saxton, Pennsylvania; on April 20, 1924.  She was the daughter of the late George and Alverda R. (Dickerson) Heister.  On September 21, 1941 at Raven Run Church of the Brethren she was united in marriage to Galen E. Rinard, he preceded her in death in 1998 along with an infant son.

She is survived by her daughter Bonnie R. and husband Thomas J. Burke of Roaring Spring, PA; grandchildren Tracie and husband Darrin Whysong, Imler, PA and Mark Burke and wife Judy of Danville, PA; two great grandchildren Kierstin N. and Payton A. Whysong; sisters: Dorothy Wydenowski of Paulsboro, NJ, Virginia and husband John Auger of Williamstown, NJ, Betty and husband Robert Steele of Hopewell, PA and Wanda Castle of Lima, OH.

Mrs. Rinard grew up in Riddlesburg, PA and attended school in Defiance.  She and her husband operated a business for many years and she was also a full time homemaker.

She loved to do embroidery, reading and puzzles.

Mrs. Rinard had been a lifelong member of Raven Run Church of the Brethren, Saxton.  She has been attending the Clover Creek Church of the Brethren of Martinsburg in recent years.

There will be no public viewing or services.  There will be a private funeral service at Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Daniel Hammel officiating.

Burial will be held privately at Bunker Hill Cemetery.

The Family request that “no flowers” be sent, memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Rinard may be made to Clover Creek Church of the Brethren, 218 Rebecca Furnace Road, Martinsburg, PA 16662 or the Raven Run Church, 616 Raven Run Road, Saxton, PA 16678.
