Hattie E. (Berger) Mitchell

Hattie E. Mitchell, 78, of Saxton, PA; passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.  She was born on July 16, 1947; a daughter of the late Joe and Mary (Brown) Berger.  She is survived by her significant other of twenty two years George Phipps.

She is also survived by a grandson Ian N. Mitchell married to Alyssa; two great grandchildren Theo and Cameron Mitchell; a brother Jimmy Berger and niece Cathy Nowalk.

Hattie was preceded in death by her son Ian J. Mitchell.

She was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School Class of 1965.  She worked for the United States Postal Service as a carrier for twenty-eight years and later worked for HBF Area Agency on Aging for ten years until retirement.

She enjoyed participating in bowling leagues and playing pool.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Grandview Cemetery with Pastor Jill Clawson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
