Harry Rinehart, Jr. Obituary

Harry F. Rinehart, Jr., 88, of Mifflin Street, Saxton, PA; passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center.  He was born on July 2, 1932 in Broad Top, PA; a son of the late Harry Franklin Rinehart Sr. and Hazel (Brown).

On January 29, 1955 in Wood, PA; he married Patty Lou (Nead).

Along with his wife he is survived by two daughters Debbie Matthews married to Bruce and Lisa Rankin married to Jeff; a sister Ella Ruth Black and a brother Glenn Rinehart (Fibber).

Over the years he enjoyed and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  They were always bringing a smile to his face.  Traci Phipps, Derek (Stephanie), Jaxon, Brooks and Ty Matthews, Jessica (Josh), Jeffrey and Jabin McGraw, Toni (Nick) and Brody Kocik, Patrick, Cambree and David Rinehart, Brennan White, Chanda (Travis) and Taylea Chamberlain, Paige Thomas and Kayloni and Lakya Pagan.  There were also many nieces and nephews that spent time at the Rinehart’s, everyone was welcome.

Those who left this earth were a son David Wayne Rinehart, a granddaughter Angel Rankin, and siblings Eugene Rinehart, Wayne Rinehart, Bobby Rinehart, Betty Swope, Dixie Heaton and Judy Deluca

Harry served in the Korean War from 1950-1954 and was awarded two purple hearts.  Serving his country was an honor.  He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot.

Patty and Harry liked to travel and meet new people.  Also in his spare time he enjoyed sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pirates.  Don’t forget his love of country music that he sang to and of course going to casinos with his friends.

This warrior was ornery, stubborn and a jokester at heart, he loved to make people laugh.  He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.  He wore many hats over the years and in turn taught us so much.  We will miss him!
