Gregory K. Sponsler

Gregory K. Sponsler, 64, of Sunbury passed away unexpectedly at hunting camp in Petersburg on Sunday, November 20, 2022.  He was born on November 2, 1958 in Everett, PA; a son of K. Joan “Ann” (Diehl) Sponsler of Everett and the late Kenneth E. Sponsler.  He was first married to Diane L. Sponsler, she preceded him in death on May 24, 2011.  He later on October 5, 2018 was united in marriage to Karen L. (Bimeal) Sponsler.

Along with his wife Karen, his mom, he is survived by two children Dustin E. Sponsler married to Lori, Clearville, PA; and Casey J. Sponsler, Everett, PA; grandchildren Layne, Brooke, Bridget, Faith, Kaiden, Hunter, Alaina, Brodie and RaeLynn.

Greg was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1977.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1978-1982.  He grew up in the First Christian Church. 

Greg had a love for the outdoors; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.  He was a member of the Everett Sportsman Club and Logan Country Club, Petersburg.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Memorial Service is rescheduled for Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Robertson officiating.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.

Full military honors will be conducted by The Everett Area Honor Guard.
