Gerald R. Miller, 94, of Old Route 26, Everett, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Donahoe Manor. He was born on June 24, 1926 in Everett, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Kenneth H. and Collie W. (Rice) Miller.

He was united in marriage to Betty (Klahre) Miller of Clearville, on October 30, 1948 in the Methodist Church Parsonage, Clearville. They celebrated 63 anniversaries until her passing on May 14, 2012.

Along with his parents and wife he is preceded in death by daughter, Rose Ann, brother Donald, and sisters Ruth McCoy and Alta Layton.

He is survived by the following children Gloria Jean Miller, Lawrence Ray Miller married to Beverly (Fischer), Keith Halton Miller married to Kathleen (Foor), Colleen Susan married to Greg Pierce, Joseph Klahre Miller married to Cynthia (Berry); 10 grandchildren: Kristin married to Scott Matas, Nycole married to Brian Keeport, Jessica Miller, Meredith married to Ben Hatt, Elizabeth married to Jeff Boardman, Aaron Miller, Amy Miller, Allison Miller, Adam Pierce married to Laurie (Biggs), Matthew Pierce married to Courtney (Nissley), 16 great grandchildren; and sister, Anna Hinish.

He was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1943.

He faithfully attended Everett United Methodist Church, serving as an usher and trustee. He was a Boy Scout troop leader and Everett School Board Director. He held offices in the Everett Lions Club, Big Creek Hunting Club, and Everett Senior Center.

Gerald managed the Bedford Farm Bureau for forty-four years until his retirement in 1984 as a general manager of stores in Bedford, Everett, and New Enterprise. After retirement, he and Betty traveled the U.S. and lower Canada extensively, spending many winters in Florida.

Working together with Max Wallace, they located and restored countless farm cemeteries in the Everett and Clearville area. Gerald was a member of the Robinsonville and Shreves Cemetery Associations, helping with their maintenance into his 90’s.

Gerald enjoyed hunting for deer, gobblers, and bear with family and friends, solving crossword puzzles, and sitting on the deck with Betty. All of these things bought happiness to Gerald. The greatest joy for Gerald and Betty was filling their home with their children and their families.
