Gene A. Baker

Gene Authur Baker, 83, of Saxton, PA; passed away at home on Friday, July 19, 2024

He was born in Saxton, PA on July 11, 1941; a son of the late Paul D. and Alma M. (Putt) Baker.  In July of 1975 at their home in Stonerstown, he married Carol J. (Hughes), who preceded him in death in 2006.

He is survived by a son Kevin G. Johnson, Cassville, PA and a daughter Deborah L. Sherlock, Saxton, PA; grandsons Jody L. Sherlock Jr. and Garrett Sherlock; brother James D. Baker, Saxton, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother B.K. Baker.

Gene attended Saxton Liberty High School.  He served in the United States Army National Guard from February 1960 to February 1964, receiving his honorable discharge.

Gene was a carpenter by trade and belonged to Local Union No. 423.

At his request there will be no services, burial will be held privately at Grandview Cemetery.
