Fred Wesley Steele

Fred Wesley Steele, 74, passed away on June 15, 2024 at Altoona Hospital due to a brief illness.  He was born November 18, 1949 in Bedford, the son of Junior Steele and Betty Lou Steele (Redinger).

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers: Thomas Steele and Nathan Steele.  Surviving is his daughter, Dustina Plyler of Mooresville, NC, and brothers, Richard Steele of Fairmont, WV, Joseph Steele (Mary Steele) of Hopewell, sister, Brenda Sweeney (Darrell Sweeney) and grandsons, Wyatt Plyler and Remington Plyler, both of Mooresville, NC.  Fred had many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and extended family and friends including Nicole Lippmann of Mount Union and Joan Thomas and family of Bedford. He was employed at Hines Equipment in Bedford and was a phenomenal outdoorsman.  A Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date.
