Frances L. Stauffer, 87, of James Creek PA; passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at home. She was born on June 16, 1937 in Huntingdon, PA; a daughter of the late Joseph and Virginia (McElwain) Dolt. On February 25, 1956 she was united in marriage to Harry Gordon Stauffer. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2020.
She is survived by three sons Jeffrey G. Stauffer married to Leslie, Huntingdon, PA; Barry L. Stauffer, Chambersburg, PA and Roger D. Stauffer, Huntingdon, PA; three grandchildren Jennica Stauffer, Whitney Stauffer and Hillary Clities; five great grandchildren Jayden, Hoyt, Ryan, Chase and Tucker; two step grandchildren Denver Burket and Charlie Burket; four step great-grandchildren Gabe, Wyatt, Gabin and Archer; siblings Philip Dolte married to Rebecca; Martha Foor and Flora Jane Dolt.
She was preceded in death by siblings Charles “Benny” Dolt, Lena Heaster, Glenn Dolt and two infant siblings; brother-in-law Jackson Heaster and sister-in-law Judy Dolt.
Frances was a member of the Community Chapel of Hesston and attended James Creek Church of the Brethren in Marklesburg. She was a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School Class of 1955.
She worked at Huntingdon Motor Inn for over twenty years in housekeeping.
Mrs. Stauffer was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penn State Nittany Lion fan.
Burial will be held privately at Grandview Cemetery.
