Florence O. (Way) Downs

Florence Olivia (Way) Downs, 92, of Everett, Pennsylvania; passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. She was born on September 9, 1931 in Quantico, Maryland; the daughter of the late Charles Linwood and Mary Hester (Wilson) Way. On June 20, 1959 by Rev. Mack, she was united in marriage to Asa Downs, Sr.  He preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son Asa Downs, Jr. married to Monica of Everett, PA; granddaughter Braelin Asea Downs; three special nieces and nephew Helen Malone (Joe), Elizabeth Milburn, Dr. George Hull (Elizabeth) and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by sons Gary Tyrone Downs and Larry Way Downs; siblings Sarah, John, Grace, George, Helen, Cornelia, Rosalie, Mary and Margaret; special nephews Charles Way, Dr. Robert Hull and Joe Way.

Florence was a member of the Everett Seventh Day Adventist Church, Everett, PA. 

She worked at the Manhattan Shirt Factory for a number of years and later working and retiring from the Blind Industry of Maryland.

She enjoyed traveling, bowling, cooking and singing.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Spring Hill Memory Garden in Hebron, MD.

Burial will follow at the Spring Hill Memory Garden.
