Florence N (Hess) Brown

Florence N. Brown, 90, Northgate Park Road, Everett, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  She was born on February 19, 1931 in Lewistown, a daughter of the late Merle and Nellie V. (Guthridge) Hess.

She was united in marriage to Harry H. Brown on May 1, 1947 in Huntingdon, PA.  He preceded her in death on January 31, 1990 at their home in Six Mile Run.

She is survived by three sons, Terry J. Brown and wife Nancy of Everett; Joseph R. Brown of Everett; and Brian P. Brown of Everett, thirteen grandchildren, Kelly (Black) Hrivnak married to  Joe, Hopewell, PA; Lori (Black) Spiker married to Kevin, Hopewell, PA; Ryan Robinson,  Roaring Spring, PA; Bradley Robinson, Everett, PA; Hollie Brown and companion Willard,  Saxton, PA; Corey Brown married to Tracy, Florida; Chad Brown, Florida; Michael Brown, Everett, PA; Tyler Brown married to Alisha, Bedford, PA; Brittany (Brown) Moorehead married to Justin, Florida; Devin Brown, Altoona, PA; Laura (Clouse) Brandt, Pittsburgh, PA, and Alex Helsel, Saxton, PA; five step-grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren; siblings, Dolly Hann, Three Springs, PA; Diane Hinkle, Hesston, PA; Amy Sener, Palmyra, PA; Samuel Hess, Martinsburg, PA, and Boyd Hess, Huntingdon, PA.

She was preceded in death by daughter, Patricia Brown (Black) Robinson; brothers, Norman M. Hess, David F. Hess, Arthur C. Hess, sister, Jean B. Melius, and two infant sisters.

She was of the Protestant Faith.  She was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother who loved to cook and spend time with her children.

Friends and family will be received from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 26, 2021 in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Tim McIntyre officiating.  Interment will be at the Broad Top City I.O.O.F Cemetery.
