Fern Dixon, 88, of Longs Run Road, Six Mile Run, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Homewood at Martinsburg. She was born on February 2, 1930 in Six Mile Run, PA; a daughter of the late J. Chester and Rose J. (Clark) Dixon. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by siblings Lena J. Mathes, Roberta Faye Black, Leila M. Black, Lillian J. Mitchell and Cleveland, Carl, Clarence “Luther” and Clinton Dixon.
Ms. Dixon was a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School Class of 1948. Over the years she worked as a clerk for Westinghouse Electric, Scampers, Quality Manufacturing, Arrow Shirt Company, Lion Manufacturing and the Pennsylvania Board of Assistance but lastly working as a teller for The First National Bank in Saxton until her retirement in 1995.
Fern was a member of Round Knob Church of God where she served on the council board, taught Sunday School as well as serving as church treasurer for many years, she was a past member of the Ladies Aid Society.
Ms. Dixon enjoyed reading, keeping in touch with her friends, church activities and maintaining the homestead for the family.
Friends and Family may call at the Round Knob Church of God, 2089 Longs Run Road, Six Mile Run, PA on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Round Knob Church of God with Pastor Jeff Musser officiating.
Burial will be held in Duvall Cemetery.
