Eugene M. Weddle, 74, of Sunny Slope Drive, Everett, PA; passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born on February 5, 1947 in Waynesboro, PA; a son of the late Paul and Gladys (Shockey) Weddle. He was united in marriage to Jeanne (Clark) Ebersole-Weddle.
Along with his wife he is survived by his children Wendy Haugh, Waynesboro, PA; Holly Dupont, Waynesboro, PA and John E. Ebersole III, Bedford, PA; siblings Paula Moats, Waynesboro, PA; Pauline Diffenbaucher, Greencastle, PA and Debra Shreve, Waynesboro, PA; grandchildren Michael and Nathan; Jackie and Hannah and Alaura, Kyle and Seth; and numerous great grandchildren.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Linda Bonebreak and son Jason E. Ebersole.
Eugene was a graduate of Waynesboro High School Class of 1967. By trade he was a machinist at Landis Tool Company for many years and later retiring from Volvo Manufacturing formerly called Ingersoll Rand in Shippensburg, PA.
Gene loved to be of help to anyone that asked. He was an active member of the Bedford Senior Center and also was their van driver on various trips. He also helped with the Everett Food Bank, Bedford Sportsmans Club and Bedford County Players as an usher.
Eugene was an avid Nascar fan, and enjoyed watching the races weekly. He was associated with the Everett Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He loved his family and spending time with them.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Snyder officiating.
Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Thursday from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Burial will be held privately.
