Ernest Grubb Obituary

Ernest M. Grubb, 82, of Bedford, PA; passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. A man of God and now in the arms of his Lord and Savior. He was born on February 18, 1938 in Loysburg, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Arthur S. and Edith (Fluke) Grubb.  On September 23, 1961 in Fishertown, Pennsylvania he was united in marriage to Gail (Wyles) Grubb.

Along with his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Gail, he is survived by daughter Valerie married to Ben Cessna of Clearville, PA; son Kevin E. Grubb of Bedford, PA; brother Paul Grubb of Everett, PA; grandchildren Becki married to Kevin Kifer, Glen Cessna married to Laura; great grandchildren Tristan, Colt, Henry, and Bram; numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a step mother Blanche Grubb and siblings William (Billy) 8 years old; Dean Grubb, Robert Grubb; sisters Betty Trail and Sara Jane Smith; and granddaughter Jesse Sellers.

Ernie graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1956 and joined the 385th M.P. Battalion Army, Stuttgart, Germany.

After returning home, he drove truck for E.G. Studebaker, Bedford, PA, Interstate Trucking out of Pittsburgh.  For a period of time he worked for the Louis Geisel Funeral Home and then later worked at the Bedford Area Ambulance Service which Ernie operated from his home for many years.  His last years of driving truck was with Allied Car Haulers, Baltimore, MD; where he later retired from.  He continued to work up to the present day with Fishers Auto, Bedford delivering parts. He loved his job as well as his coworkers.

Wherever Ernie went on his travels he gave God’s message to all that would listen. He loved the church and his church family. He was a member, a church elder, and served on the Council Board of Directors of Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church.

He was the most wonderful and loving husband a wife could ever be blessed to have. He was the best father to Valerie and Kevin and enjoyed every moment of time he got to spend with them.

Ernie’s past time was reading his Bible, doing crossword puzzles, walking his dog, “Maddy”, and going to the Friday night races at the Bedford Speedway with his friends, Roger and Linda.

We thank the V.A. nurses for going above and beyond with their amazing care for Ernie. They truly have ministry in nursing. We thank Kerrie, Pam, Cindy, Jason,Tracey, and Pastor Dan for their support and prayers.

He will be greatly missed by all; but we have the peace of God knowing Ernie is home now with his Lord, Jesus.

Services will be held privately with burial at New Enterprise Cemetery.
