Erma L. Cogan, 77, of Wilkins Road, Everett, PA; went home to be with the Lord on May 14, 2021 at home with her family by her side. She was born in Everett, PA; on April 21, 1944 a daughter of the late Harrison and Helen (Gordon) Clark. On February 14, 1985 in the Everett Church of God, she was united in marriage to Joe E. Cogan.
Along with her husband she is survived by sons Chris Cogan, Everett, PA and Josh Cogan married to Janelle (Harclerode), Everett, step daughter Annette Bohannan; grandchildren Justin Mearkle married to Kait, Jessica married to Ryan Wert, Kelsey Coons married to Dave, Kyle Mearkle married to Audreé, Olivia and Reed Cogan; step grandchildren Nicole Bohannan, Cade, Cassie and Kale Condo and Billy White and three great grandchildren Aurora Mearkle, Le´ela Mearkle and Christian Mearkle; a sister Dianne Vreeland and son-in-law Bill White.
She was preceded in death by daughter Christina J. White and a brother Sherman Clark.
Erma was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1962. After graduation she went to work at Gateway, then Lions Manufacturing, followed by attending IBM Computer School in Wisconsin. She returned home to marry Boots Donaldson, he preceded her in death and she started her career at Everett Christian Academy. Upon their closure, she worked at Pennknoll as a dietary aid for nearly thirty years until her retirement in 2009.
She was a member of the Everett Church of God, where she was active in the Women’s Prayer Group; she was also a member of the Bloody Run Ruritan Club, holding various positions.
She was devoted to studying the word of the Lord with her Daily Devotional time with the Bible, being with grandchildren, the cattle on the farm and her dog “Annie”.
Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 6-8 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Rev. William Kisner officiating.
Burial will be held at Cherry Lane Cemetery.
