Emmagene D. Akers, 94, of Honey Brook, PA formerly of West Chester, PA; passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Tel Hai Retirement Community. She was born on December 15, 1929 in Waynesburg, OH; a daughter of the late Ivan E. and Blanche M. (Geiser) Davis. On April 12, 1950 at Shreves Chapel Church, Clearville, she married P. Ivan Akers. He preceded her in death on August 15, 2001.
She is survived by four children Mahlon Edward Akers married to Ellen, Sebring, FL; Richard Mark Akers married to Jean, Newtown Square, PA; Joel David Akers married to Wilma, West Chester, PA, and Jocelyn Elizabeth Whitpan married to Kirk, West Chester, PA; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; sister Gladys Oaks married to Don, Pine Grove, PA; and sister-in-law Martha Davis, Waynesburg, OH.
She was preceded in death by a brother Richard Davis.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newtown Square, Delaware County serving on the Missions Committee. She enjoyed cooking and loved to read.
Emmagene was a graduate of Waynesburg High School Class of 1948. She was employed as a Household Manager for the Dupont Family.
Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 5-7 P.M.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Shreves Chapel Cemetery with Lay Speaker David Bard officiating.
