Eleanor M. (Glass) Thomas

Eleanor M. Thomas, 91, of Hopewell, PA, passed away peacefully at Homewood at Martinsburg surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

She was born on June 12, 1934, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Meta Glass. She was united in marriage to Darrell J. Thomas. He preceded her in death in June of 1996.

She is survived by children: Ed Sokal, Bakers Summit, PA; Linda Clark, married to Ron, Ft. Myers, Florida; Mark Thomas, married to Tonya, Hopewell, PA; and Brenda Angers, married to Dave, Ft. Myers, Florida; stepson George Thomas, married to Jen, Hopewell, PA; grandchildren: Brent Diehl (Tammy); Heather Chilcote (Kayle), Travis Diehl, JR Mayne (Ashley), Tyler Thomas (Bethany), Brad Mayne (Marina), Abigail Earley (Nathan); great-grandchildren: Haylee, Henlee, Colt, Haislee, Adalynn, Miranda, Lizzy, Daniel, Nicholas, Harlee and Travis.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Juta Elise.

She was a member of Raystown Brethren Church. She worked in the dietary department at Bedford Memorial Hospital for many years and later as a cook at Raystown Lake Resort and The Seven Points Marina. She was a member of the Hopewell Senior Center, enjoyed playing bingo, coloring, reading, doing word puzzles and spending time with her family.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 from 4-7 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 7 p.m. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Chamberlain officiating.

Burial will be held privately.
