Edward Truax Obituary

Edward L. Truax, 80, of Breezewood, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 23, 2024.  He was born on August 20, 1944 in Breezewood; a son of the late Elmer Truax and Nan (Bequeath) Truax-Blackstone.  On May 19, 1972 he married Victoria L. (Cutchall) Truax.

Along with his wife of fifty-two years, he is survived by daughter Nicole L. Spade and a son Michael L. Truax married to Erica (Fitz) all of Everett and a honorary daughter Tally Harmon; four grandchildren Austin Spade married to Shiane, Isaac Mearkle, Ellie and Emmy Truax; siblings Ray E. Truax and Sheryl married to Rollin Treece, Jr., a brother-in-law T. Lee Nave and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by step mother Anna F. Truax, step father Robert Blackstone, siblings Joanne Calhoun, Patricia Nave, sister-in-law Catherine Truax, brother-in-law Allen Calhoun.

Ed was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1963.  He served in the United States Army – unit 151st Transportation Co. / Rank SP4 / Light Truck Operator serving in the Vietnam War from 1964-1966.

Mr. Truax worked at Breezewood Rochester Telephone Company for twenty seven years taking an early retirement.  Then started a painting/wallpaper business for a number of years.

He was an active member of the Everett Assembly of God Church, most recently teaching an elective adult class.  Ed loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  At the age of 27, he accepted Jesus into his heart and served the Lord from then on.  “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”  Matthew 22:37.

He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, who we all adored and we will miss greatly. 

Ed enjoyed gardening and working with flowers, helping others especially his children and grandchildren.

Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett from 3-7 P.M. and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor John Wiley officiating.

Burial will be held at Mt. Chapel Church Cemetery with military honors by the Everett Area Honor Guard.
