Edna M. Showalter, 88 of Everett, PA; passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 with family by her side. She was born on October 30, 1936 in Everett, PA; a daughter of the late Warren and M. Helen (Burkett) Wallace. On November 15, 1952 at the Everett Church of the Brethren she was united in marriage to Arlen P. Showalter. He preceded her in death on September 10, 2021.
She is survived by children Arlen C. Showalter married to Patty L. (Calhoun); Susan D. married to Clyde R. Snyder; Sharon A. married to Martin M. Bakner and Aric A. Showalter married to Krista L. (Hurley), all of Everett; grandchildren Shannon Showalter, Tracey Snyder, Corey Snyder, Stephanie Allen, Timothy Bakner, MaKinzie Showalter, Kassidy Showalter and eleven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by siblings H. Romaine Steckman and Frank Wallace.
She was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren. Edna was the first Director of the Everett Happy Senior Center and served as its site manager for over thirty years. She enjoyed going to Rehoboth Beach, DE on family vacations, hosting family gatherings, dinners and being with family.
Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 6-8 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the lives of Edna and Arlen (that passed away during Covid), will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., with Pastor Mike Benner officiating.
Burial will be held at the Everett Cemetery.
