Edith M. (Koontz) Fischer

Edith M. Fischer, 84, of Bedford, PA; passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Pennknoll Village.  She was born on February 14, 1939 in Hopewell, PA; a daughter of the late Simon I. and Mary (Border) Koontz.  On September 12, 1959 in Wells Tannery she was united in marriage to Larry R. Fischer.

Along with her husband of sixty-four years, she is survived by four children Jacalyn Imes married to Joseph, Paul R. Fischer married to Joann (Carson), Michelle Soliday married to Anthony, and Daniel Fischer married to Kristen (Thomas); ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by siblings William Koontz, Joan Melius and Priscilla Beach.

Edith was a graduate of Robert P. Smith High School Class of 1957.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, tending to her flower beds, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. 

She was a member of the Everett Seventh Day Adventist Church.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Ball, Jr. officiating.

Friends and Family will be received on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service.  Burial will be held privately at Horne Church Cemetery, Alum Bank.
