E. Laverne (Rose) Bridges

E. Laverne Bridges, 91, died on Thursday, November 26 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home.  She was born on October 26, 1929 in Bedford.  A daughter of the late William H. and M. Alberta (Zembower) Rose. 

She is survived by an aunt; Nadene Zembower of Bedford, a sister; E. Martina Elliott of Bedford, and a brother; W. Murray Rose and wife Kathy of Cumberland, and the following children: daughter Elaine Bennett and husband Lance of Bedford, daughter Polly Lesh of Bedford, daughter Sharon Bridges and fiancé Mike Woolard of Cumberland, daughter Donna Bridges and partner Myron Streett of Bedford, and son Rodney Bridges of Bedford.  Grandchildren; Bruce Bennett and wife Candace of Bedford, Robin Mathews and husband Jim of Cumberland, Stacy Crissey and husband Ike of Manns Choice, John Twigg and wife Sherry of Maryland, Shelly Thuss and husband Kenny of Maryland, Randy Mock of West Virginia, Sherry Mock and partner Justin Sell of West Virginia, Rodney Bridges and wife Jerica of Bedford, and several great grandkids, great-great-grandkids, nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by a brother L. Sonny Rose, sisters; F. Lucille Elliott and Polly Nave.  A daughter Cindy Mock, a son Scott Bridges, and a great-great-grandson, Austin Thuss. 

She was employed by The Bedford Springs and then retired from S’Barros.  She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan.   

The family would like to thank Dr. Baer, Susan Black P.A., and the staff at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home.   

Due to the current circumstances a memorial service will be held at a later date. 

Burial at Union Cemetery, Centerville.
