Duwaine "Boots" Smith

Duwaine “Boots” Smith, 78, of Hopewell, PA; passed away on Tuesday, December 09, 2025.  He was born on October 15, 1947 in Everett, PA; a son of the late Elizabeth H. Smith. On April 16 1988, at the Sherman Valley Church; he was united in marriage to Rose M. (Wallace) Smith.

Along with his wife he is survived by a son Andrew R. Smith and his significant other Melanie Lambert; step daughter Luci Wallace; seven grandchildren Aleiah, Briley, Colton, Rylan, Kamie, Mizzaray, Zaellic; and one great grandchild Alexandra.

He was preceded in death by a brother Ronald Smith, sisters Emily Lou Smith, Joan Mae Smith and Emily Jean Grace; daughter-in-law Susanne Smith; father and mother-in-law Norwood and Zola Wallace.

He was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School Class of 1966.  He was a member of Sherman’s Valley Brethren in Christ Church.  Boots loved spending time with his family and friends.  He followed high school sports and was a diehard Penn State and Pittsburgh Steeler fan. 

Friends and family will be received on Monday, December 15, 2025 at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 from 10-11 A.M.

Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ron Forrester officiating.

Burial will be held privately at Langdondale Cemetery.

If friends so desire in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Boots to the Akers Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
