Duane C. Wilt

Duane C. Wilt, 94, of Everett; passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on April 5, 1932 in Breezewood, PA; a son of the late Daniel R. and Thelma D. (Sprowl) Wilt.  On October 8, 1956 in Winchester, VA: he was united in marriage to Marjorie L. (Ferguson) Wilt. 

Along with his wife of sixty-nine years, he is survived by two daughters Brenda Claycomb married to Steve and Barbara Decker married to Lonnie; grandchildren Michelle Spade married to Clyde, Brittany Carl married to Allen, Josh Claycomb and Justin Claycomb and fiancé Taleshia; great grandchildren Cody and Levi Spade, Addy Claycomb and Isaiah Eller; Kyrie Claycomb; Jetzy and Kenzly Carl; and a sister-in-law Othetta (Barkman) Wilt.

He was preceded in death by brothers Victor D. Wilt, Beuford J. Wilt, Derril K. “Tucker” Wilt and Myron D. Wilt.

Duane was affiliated with the First Christian Church.

He was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1949.  Duane served in the United States Army as a Corporal from 1953-1955 during the Korean War.

He worked for Caro’s in Everett, before joining his father-in-law Slim Ferguson at the W.B. Sponsler Mobile Station on North Spring Street.  He later managed the Barkman Oil Gas Station on Route 30 for many years until retirement.

Duane enjoyed attending gun shows, auctions, yard saling, collecting and working on his tractors, and hunting.  He was especially passionate about spring gobbler hunting.

He was a former member of the Ridge Runner Hunting Camp and the Breezewood Lions Club for a number of years.

The family would like to send a special thank you to his caregivers.

Services will be held privately with burial at the Everett Cemetery.
